Apple unveils iPad the tablet
Apple CEO Steve Jobs unveils iPad the tablet at an event in San Francisco.
“We asked if there was room for a third category in the middle, something between a laptop and a smartphone. In order to create a new category, it needed to be far better at doing some key tasks such as browsing the Web, doing e-mail, sharing photos, watching video, gaming and reading e-books. It’s got to be better at these key tasks otherwise it has no reason for being. Some people have said: oh, that’s a netbook. The problem is netbooks aren’t better at ANYTHING.” Applause. “They’re just cheap laptops. And we call it, the iPad. It’s official.” he said.

iPad Spec:
- “It’s 0.5-inches thin, weighs just 1.5 pounds. Thinner and lighter than any netbook. 9.7-inch IPS display.”
- “iPad is powered by our own custom silicon. Our own chip. It’s called the A4, and it screams.” 1GHz. 16, 32, or 64GB of flash storage. “It’s got the latest in wireless: 802.11n, WiFi, and Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR.”
- “All the usual suspects: accelerometer, compass, speaker, mic, dock connector. And it’s got battery.”
- “What’s the battery life on this remarkable device?” Pauses. “We’ve been able to achieve 10 hours of battery life.”
iPad Release Date and iPad Price:
- “I’m thrilled to announce to you that the iPad pricing starts not at $999, but at $499.

Apple’s revolutionary innovation will rapidly grow after this initial pumped up period during it’s unveiling. The touch screen and Job’s potential to fix issues will start to make the iPad a monster in years to come.

i am planning to buy an iPad since it looks lighter than a regular desknote and i don not use much of the features of a laptop.~`.
